How to Share Folder in MAC and Access that on Windows PC

Note: By Doing these steps you can share all your Mac’s resources with Windows PCs like- CD or DVD, Screen Sharing, Printer Sharing, Scanner Sharing, Remote Login, Internet Sharing and Bluetooth Sharing.

Let’s first Share a Folder on MAC PC.
Step 1) On MAC PC, go to “Apple Icon”à then System Preferences”à a window will pop up, click on Sharing.

Step 2) Check the Box next to “File Sharing”.

Step 3) Note down the IP Address of MAC PC.

Step 4) Go to “Options”à Check both the boxes next to “Afp” and “SMB” and click on “Done”.

Step 5) Click on “+” to add the Folder you want to share (in my case its Z Drive folder).

Step 6) On “Permissions”, select your shared folder and give “Full Permissions” to everyone.

That’s it. To access this folder on Windows PC,

Step 1) Press Window Button + R

Step 2) type \\ and then the IP Address of MAC PC like in my case, I’ll type \\192.168.1.29 and press enter.

Give Mac’s Username and Password and Check the box “Remember password” and press OK.

You’ll find your Shared folders on Mac Machine.
